Hey y’all,
I’m Meg, a queer, southern herbalist with a little bit of earth and stardust just like you. My calling in this lifetime is to dance between the world of plants and people, like a little spider weaving a web between the two. It is my deepest truth that knowing and loving the plant world is our collective ancestral gift, with both an invitation to work with the plant spirits as medicine, as well as a call to protect and steward the Earth.
BACK STORY: after graduating from the University of Central Arkansas with a BA in Creative Writing and Spanish, I moved to Spain to live like a whimsical poet in a romantic European town away from home. I was 22 with an insatiable appetite and complete trust in my gut intuition (thanks, mama). Serendipity, or perhaps fate, had me land right next to a little apothecary in that town. I began to frequent it daily, and almost instantly, the plants of an ancestral home reminded me of what I loved most as a child. It’s been 7 years now of formal and informal studies, from the Wildflower School here in Austin, TX, to the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism, and back to my original roots of my mama’s garden in Arkansas. I thank all of my teachers – human, animal, plant – for the lessons, the patience and the love.
